Description

ChaRisma® CA series, whose intellectual property is exclusively owned by ChaRisma® Hi-tech Corporation, is a type of concrete admixture with performance of capillary crystalline waterproofing. After mixed with water into other raw materials, it catalyzes cement hydration and creates crystals in pores of concrete , which block the capillary pores in hardened cementitious concrete. As a result, the impermeability of concrete is improved greatly. When free water permeates through new fine crack with width less than 0.4mm, which is mainly caused by concrete shrinkage, the active materials in ChaRisma® CA are activated and the catalysis and creation of crystals are resumed in the crack. Because the crystalline activity can be activated repeatedly by water, the lifetime waterproofing can be ensured.

Main properties

1. ChaRisma® CA has outstanding ability of catalysis for crystallization and automatic repairing of fine crack. The second hydrostatic pressure is 1.3MPa(The minimal requirement in Chinese standard GB18445-2001 is 0.6MPa).

2. ChaRisma® CA has excellent concrete impermeability (28d hydrostatic pressure is 1.8MPa, equal to ratio of hydrostatic pressure 450%, for which the minimal requirement in GB18445-2001 is 200%).

3. Concret with ChaRisma® CA has no bleeding and excellent concrete workability.

4. ChaRisma® CA enhances the compressive strength of 7d and 28d by around 25% and 17% respectively.

5. ChaRisma® CA protects concrete from aggressive chemical attack, such as chloride.

Characteristics compared to coating of capillary crystalline waterproofing

1. ChaRisma® CA has more repairing effect for fine crack in concrete. Because active materials in ChaRisma® CA are dispersed evenly in hardened cement mortar, when fine cracks occur,active materials existed everywhere in concrete and crystalline reaction is started simultaneously by water throughout the crack. So cracks are sealed more thoroughly than coating.

2. ChaRisma® CA greatly decreases the total volume of the capillary pores in cement mortar and of mortar-aggregate interface, and prevents concrete from intrusion of water and aggressive chemicals.

Usage

ChaRisma® CA powder should be added into concrete mix while batching. Thorough blending of ChaRisma® CA powder throughout the concrete mix is indispensable to concrete performance of the product.

Dosage

ChaRisma® CA powder should be added into concrete mix at a rate of 1% by weight of cementitious material.

Precaution

Concrete experiment is necessary to optimize the concrete mix proportion .
